  • Health & Wellbeing Evening

    The Lee Strand & National Dairy Council Health & Wellbeing Evening at Ballyroe Heights Hotel, Tralee on Thursday, October 6th, 2011 was a great success with 500 people gathering for the occasion. The event was a wonderful evening of entertainment with specialist speakers including leading Irish independent dietitian Paula Mee and Confidence-Building Coach, Fiona Hoban giving lots of tips about health, wellbeing and diet. One of the highlights of the evening was a cookery demonstration by Mark Doe from 'Just Cooking' School, Firies. Mark demonstrated his creative culinary skills with wonderful dishes using Lee Strand products including; a Quick cheesy fish gratin; Brown soda bread; Bread and butter pudding and a delicious Orange and berry smoothie. All recipes are available on www.facebook.com/leestrandmilk Guests were welcomed on arrival with a milk and cookie reception and also enjoyed tastings from Mark Doe’s cookery demonstration during the interval. Deirdre Walsh from Radio Kerry was a fantastic MC for the evening. All guests received a gift bag filled with lots of Lee Strand products, nutritional advice from the NDC, recipes and many other gifts. John O’Sullivan, General Manager, Lee Strand commented “Lee Strand is delighted with the success of the Health & Wellbeing Evening and the fantastic attendance at the event. It was a great pleasure to work with the National Dairy Council on this initiative, which provided our customers with valuable insights into the importance of dairy as a source of nutrition in their diet”. All proceeds from the €5 ticket/admission charge and raffle on the night was donated to the Kerry Cancer Support Group. A total of €4,520 was donated to the charity.
