The Kerry Division of An Garda Síochána in association with Lee Strand Milk are holding awards for young people between the ages of 13 years and 21 years in recognition of the great contribution young people have made and continue to make to their communities in Kerry. Community may include volunteering in schools, voluntary organisations, family/friends, sporting organisations or achievements in sports.
• INDIVIDUAL AWARDS will be presented to individuals who have made a positive contribution to their community and make it a better place to live.
• A GROUP AWARD will also be presented to groups of two or more people who have made an impact to their community.
• The SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD will be presented to an individual who has overcome difficult circumstances, has defied all the odds and whose commitment deserves recognition.
• A COMMUNITY SAFETY AWARD will be presented to an individual who through crime prevention or a safety initiative/innovation has made their community a safer place to live.
The OVERALL WINNER of the Lee Strand/Kerry Garda Youth Achievement Award 2024 will also be presented at an awards ceremony at the Ballyroe Heights Hotel on Friday, September 27th, 2024.

RULES OF THE COMPETITION
1. Awards are confined to those young people who are aged between 13 and 21 years on 31st August 2024.
2. Permanent residence of the young person must be in the Garda Division in which they are nominated.
3. Awards are confined to individuals and groups of two or more people.
4. Judges decision is final.
5. The Judging Panel will decide upon one nominee in each category to go forward to represent the Division at the National Garda Youth Awards. Details of these nominees will be passed on to the Judging Panel of the Garda National Youth Awards.
6. Details of all nominees will be retained for a period not exceeding 6 months after the closing date, at which time details will be destroyed, in compliance with General Data Protection Regulations.
7. Any member of the public may nominate anyone whom they feel deserves an award.
8. Nominations may be submitted by family members or relatives
